Our new name

WOOT! We have decided on a new name. I ripped the band-aid off. I made a decision and good, bad or otherwise we are going with it.

What's the new name you ask? Well, you will have to wait a few more days. We will be announcing our new name on Tuesdays show. 10 am EST. www.blogtalkradio.com/cmwtr

After our show on Tuesday the radio show name will change, our logo, our email, the blog web-site. Everything that says CMWTR will have the new call letters. I will of course tell you what they are on the show and post them on the web-site. For a few months if you type in cmwtr.com it will still take you to the new site.

Thank you to everyone who offered ideas and suggestions and stayed sane with me while I shot down almost every idea that someone brought to me. I simply didn't want to change even though I felt God telling me it was okay to change.

I really like our CMWTR call letters. If we could find something to stay with those that would be ideal.(without using Christian Military Wives as the first three words)
CMWTR was really designed for military wives. I know there are male spouses that are left behind and deal with the same issues that wives do. Since I don't have the male experience to draw from I feel like we need to keep it for the military wife.

After thinking and stressing and thinking and coming up with idea after idea. Some better than others. I think I am just making it harder than it needs to be. I think I am over thinking it.

Doing some research we can't use Military Wives network. No matter what we put in front of it. So we would stay Military Wives Talk Radio. We could simple be Military Wives Talk radio but that doesn't describe our Christian Roots.

Oh Lord, Surprise me today!

Okay, so I remember talking about the 30 day Faith Experiment book. I remember reading it and most of what it's about. Over the past few days I have been thinking about it. I need to dig it out of the box of books in the garage.

The last couple of days I kept feeling defeated. I still have this overwhelming feeling. A feeling like CMWTR isn't going to matter in the long run. Then I hear God whisper trust me. Follow Me. My response to God is, I'm trying but why me? Why this? I know I shouldn't ask God that but I do. There are so many resources for spouses why is CMWTR going to make a difference in the long run? But like I talked about on the show this week there are so many resources but not very many for the Christian spouse. I know that God will bless the effort. I know that God will lead the way. I have to stop dragging my heels.

I sent an email to MSCCN(Military Spouse Corporate Career Network) founder about appearing on our show and she is going to have Amy from MSCCN come and talk to us. Plus they are putting up a link to the web-site and the show. That is truly God's work. It was an obedient blessing. I felt prompted to contact MSCCN a few days ago and didn't. Then I felt prompted again yesterday. I did contact them and VIOLA! Take the step. God can't bless efforts that aren't there. He will give you obedient blessings. Look for your opportunity to be obedient today.

New Website

WOOT WOOT! After hours and hours of work our .com home is now up and running. www.christianmilitarywivestalkradio.com The message boards are still a work in progress. You must register to use the message boards. Once you are registered and I approve the membership you are then allowed to post to the boards.

If you want to see any other information on the website please let me know. We are happy to put up the information you are looking for.

Name Change

After much consideration CMWTR needs to have a name change. Just a little one. Christian Military Wives Talk Radio is the show that is on Blog Talk Radio. But CMWTR is more than that. We have a blog, a website and more coming in the future. We have come up with several options but I'm not sure I'm sold 100% on any of them. So i am putting out there for you to decide. If you have a different idea for a name change please let me know. You can send an email to shannonb@cmwtr.net

New Web-site

WOOT WOOT! I have to say I am pretty proud of myself. I did the web-site all by myself. Many hours later it is finished. Or almost finished. The web address is www.cmwtr.net We have new email as well. cmwtr@cmwtr.net is the general mailbox. HOW COOL IS THAT! Now you can have all the resources that we talk about right at your fingertips. Make sure you sign the guest book when you visit.

CMWTR.COM will be coming soon. That will probably take a month or longer. But the wait will be worth it. Either website you enter you will be directed to cmwtr.com on that site(once it's up)we will have a more interactice web-site. Discussion boards, maybe even a live chat, many more resources. Stayed tuned for that one. But for right now www.cmwtr.net is up. I had trouble pulling it up every time today. If it gives you any trouble let me know.

Make sure to listen to today's show. We had Ashley (a good friend of mine) on and we talked about deployment. The hour seems to go by so fast that I think we might have to increase the time that we do a show. Pray about that please. We always want to do God's work. So pray that he points us in the next direction

More Chaos and Stress, or maybe less...

God is most certainly good. Don't let anyone or anything convince you otherwise. My family and I have spent the last 4 days researching and exploring what will be our new home, San Antonio, Texas. We are excited about the move, and terrified all at the same time. But maybe some of the "Chaos and Stress" that comes with the PCS won't be as intense as time grows closer. I have worried and prayed about where we will live and where my two boys will go to school. I have spent countless hours researching and planning. I have talked for endless hours with family and friends about all the pros and cons of each choice. I have beat this dead horse until there is nothing left to beat. All the while praying that God would show me, very clearly, where we will live and what school choice I should make for my two blessings, Josh and Zack. God has very certainly, and repeatedly I might add, assured me that He has a plan for us. I am not always good at remembering that God has us all in His hand, that He alone has a plan to prosper us, that He will not forsake us. He has (as always) held true through this adventure. He showed me the house we would rent and is holding me up while I investigate the school options. There is still chaos and stress ahead of us, but not as much. There are still choices to consider and decisions to be made, but now there are fewer. I still have much that needs prayer, but I have much for which to be thankful, and I am thankful. VERY THANKFUL that I have continued to feel God's guiding hands even during times of doubt. God is not just good, He is GREAT!!

I am on the search for a new Logo. The one that appears on the facebook, blog talk radio, and Twitter is one that I created in a quick minute for something other than my picture to use.

I know there are creative ladies out there and I need your help. I want something that shows us as Christian Military Wives. To be honest I have no idea what that looks like but I know there will be great ideas.

CMWTR Wants You!

We are looking for a few good spouses to help us serve as a mentor to other spouses.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Resident expert-We are looking for two/three volunteers per branch of service. You will have a chance to call into the show twice a month and tell our listeners about services, features, upcoming events, anything you think is important to share. When the need arises we will direct questions to you via the chat feature on blog talk radio(during the show)or through the blog.

Chat Room Monitor-Basically you will keep the chat going and answer questions or direct people where to find information while the show is on air. I tried to read the chat and talk today and that didn't work out to well. :)

New Show looking for Volunteers

CMWTR is about to start it's journey. We are looking for volunteers to be a resident expert for you(your spouses)branch of service. We need one or two volunteers for each branch of service. Twice a month we will talk about things that are going on in different areas of the country, news that pertains to your branch of service, services that are available to the spouse and service members.

First show postponed

Our first CMWTR is postponed until 3/16 at 10 est. I have been out of town last week and came home with some sort of nasty bug that has prevented me from gathering the information we need for our first show. We will debut on 3/16!

New Show!

After much consideration, and after a few other things this week, I have decided to start Christian Military Wives Talk Radio. CMWTR for short. Our first episode will air on March 9th at 10 am. We will talk about all things related to our military lives while trying to keep our focus on God. I will admit that I don't always keep focus on God. I get lost from time to time. The best part is that God always welcomes me back. I'm not sure where or how far this journey will go but I invite you along for the ride. We will have guest speakers and maybe a book club. I'm open to your suggestions. This show is by a military wife for military wives. I want it to be your show. Talk about issues you are deaing with. You never know who will be listening and who will hear what we have to say.
